Weekly Update, April 21st 2010

Hello OCg fans!

The sixth annual Keep Shaw Beautiful Day, sponsored by Shaw Main Streets, will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Volunteers will meet at Old City Green, 902 N Street, NW, at 9:00 AM for orientation and to pick up tools.  The volunteers will then move up 9th Street, planting flowering liriope in treeboxes all the way up to Florida Avenue/U Street.

Participating in the planting will be the Shaw Green Team, UPO Blue Team, volunteers from CSOSA, and neighborhood residents and business owners.  Refreshments will be provided.

At the same time, three neighborhood associations will be conducting neighborhood cleanups: Mount Vernon Square Neighborhood Association, French Street Neighbors Association, and Westminster Neighborhood Association.
